Flexclusive, born Felix Owusu Ankrah, is a Ghanaian-born, Netherlands-based singer, rapper, producer, and CEO of Flexclusive Music Entertainment. Raised in Kumasi before relocating to Amsterdam with his family, he developed a strong passion for music early on. His academic path led him from Kings International School in Kumasi to ROC Flevoland in the Netherlands, before earning a bachelor’s degree in International Music Management from Inholland University of Applied Sciences, an educational foundation that would complement his creativity and entrepreneurial instincts.

He began gaining international recognition after releasing the remix of his single “Anything For You” featuring Itz Tiffany. The song resonated across Ghana, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Canada, and the US, marking the start of his cross-cultural musical journey. In 2013, his single “The One” won Best Song of the Year at the African Diaspora Awards in Amsterdam, and he received multiple nominations in 2013 and 2014 for his music, visuals, and collaborations. His track “Woman” featuring Dr Cryme, produced by Mix Masta Garzy, further elevated his presence.

In 2021, he released Vibe With Me, a standout EP that blended Afrobeats and Afropop into a feel-good, mood-driven collection. An experience that transcends sound, the EP was a carefully curated project reflecting Flexclusive’s growth as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer. It was a showcase of his ability to move between party bangers and heartfelt love songs, using both Twi and English to connect with audiences at home and abroad.

The project’s sound was shaped by celebrated Ghanaian producer Mix Masta Garzy, and featured collaborators from across Ghana and the diaspora, underlining Flexclusive’s wide network and collaborative spirit. To build anticipation, he teased the project with a video single ahead of release and encouraged pre-orders across digital platforms, showing a clear grasp of digital marketing strategies.

Songs like “Wo A Sisa” featuring Fameye, “Monalisa” with Bisa Kdei; which hit over 10,000 streams on Apple Music, “Buss My Brain,” and “My Love” featuring Eno Barony,  reflect his ability to blend romantic storytelling with modern Afrobeat sensibilities.

His 2023 single “Dem Dey Jealous” featuring Eno Barony, produced by Genius Selection, continued this trajectory, coupling powerful verses with sensational production. Other collaborations like “All I Need” featuring Mugeez (R2Bees), “Sobolo” featuring KK Fosu, and the uplifting “Give Thanks” highlight his dedication to both lyrical depth and mainstream appeal.

Though based in the Netherlands, Flexclusive remains culturally grounded. His ability to integrate Ghanaian musical traditions with the contemporary diasporic soundscape is evident across projects like Confusion, Hold You, Anything For You, and Mona Lisa, all of which have been released as albums or singles across streaming platforms like Audiomack, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer, YouTube, Apple Music, and Boomplay. His fluidity with format, sometimes releasing a song as both a single and part of a larger album or EP, reflects how modern artists adapt to listener behavior and platform expectations.

Flexclusive’s journey is a perfect reflection of diasporic Ghanaian creativity ingrained in Kumasi, shaped in Europe, and echoed across the globe. His music, fueled by authenticity, strategic collaborations, and cultural duality, positions him as not only a dynamic performer but also a builder of bridges between Ghana’s sonic traditions and the global Afrobeat genre.
