Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong

In Ghana’s entrepreneurial space, one name stands tall—Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong. A self-made industrialist and business mogul, Dr. Ofori Sarpong’s journey is a testament to resilience, strategic vision, and resolute determination. From his early days in Accra to becoming a key figure in multiple industries, his story inspires young entrepreneurs to dream big and execute their ideas with precision.

Early Life and Education

Dr Ofori Sarpong, born more than fifty years ago, credits his formative years at Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (Presec) for instilling the discipline and strong work ethic that became cornerstones of his successful business career. Even then, his innate entrepreneurial passion was evident, leading him to early ventures that laid the foundation for his future industrial empire.

The Rise of an Industrialist

Dr. Ofori Sarpong’s business journey began in the 1990s with the establishment of Sarpong Ventures Ltd, an import and trading company. His dedication and business understanding quickly made him a household name in Accra’s Central District, marking the beginning of a prolific career.

He didn’t rest on his initial success, so he expanded his portfolio by creating Special Investments Ltd, a real estate and construction firm responsible for developing modern estates, apartments, and office complexes across strategic locations in Ghana.

However, his entrepreneurial genius shone brightest when he established Special Ice Ltd, a leading mineral water brand that has grown to become a dominant force in Ghana’s beverage industry.

Special Ice Ltd, now boasting production plants in Accra and Kumasi, has further expanded into the soft drinks market, introducing carbonated beverages that have gained immense popularity.
